Here goes nothing....
OUT OF CHARACTER
As we are a roleplaying guild, we will only take those applicants on who are enthusiastic about RP. You don't have to be a lore know-it-all, or turn into a walking dictionary to join us however some basic knowledge is prefered. The Marauders however wont hesitate to educate you on what you need, considering you're willing to learn! We do also offer a raid team, and a PvP team that you will have the chance to join if you are accepted into the Marauders.
(Q): Please note any RP experience you have (The Marauders are willing to help you if you lack experience considering you are willing to learn!)
(A): Hey there! I've been RPing on WoW for about a year now, enjoying it greatly. Aside from my WoW RP, I also moderate a couple of RP subreddits, on the website Reddit (if anyone has heard of this, it would be great).
I moderate and participate in all of these. Game of Thrones RP is (obviously) set within the Game of Thrones universe, Event Horizon is set in the Mass Effect Universe and Tales of Thedas is set within the Dragon Age universe.
(Q): Why do you want to join us?
(A): You're a well-organized RP guild who RP my desired topic (combatants), and who I know I can have a good time with. Why wouldn't I want to join you?
(Q): What is your own definition of roleplay?
(A): Roleplay is, at it's core, an outlet for people to express their created storylines and characters. People create their characters and instead of writing about them, they act as them. They speak like their character would. They see the world through their character's eyes.
(Q): What do you think makes a good roleplayer?
(A): Someone who does not break the IC boundaries, first of all. Someone who waits, to allow the other participant(s) to reply, and someone who writes eloquently and well.
(Q): Do you wish to raid with us? If so what experience do you have.
(A): I do! Not much experience, to be honest (my last raids were Burning Crusade stuff). Once I get back into the swing of things (only just bought my subscription back, along with WoD).
(Q): Are you interested in PvP such as rated battlegrounds and arena groups? If so, what experience do you have with these
(A): I am interested, and am a huge fan of Warsong Gulch. Mainly because it's what I played the most, as I tended to just create characters, level them up to about 20-30, then just RP with them. It's only now that I'm getting into the late game stuff.
(Q): How did you hear about the Shatterskull Marauders? (Forum, friends, ingame etc)
(A): I asked if there were any guilds out there in the Trade Chat, and Tarakjin whispered me with the details!
IN CHARACTER (Meaning it's a dialog)
Greetings potential Marauder. It is required of you to answer a series of questions in moderate detail so we can assess your suitability to us. We are a warband built on bloodthirst, strategy, honour, strength and respect. If you lack these, you are not the candidate for us. However, if you think you have what it takes, carry on!
(Q): Please state your name and the race that you hail from.
(A): I am Sir Varamer, a Knight of the Ebon Blade. I was, before I died, a High Elf. The Lich King gave me life once more, as I'm sure you have heard of my order.
(Q): Why do you wish to join the warband?
(A): To hone my skills. If there is one thing my time with the Lich King has taught me, it is that death is sweet. It is the purest gift, and I wish to bestow it upon your enemies. And earn some gold in the process.
(Q): While with us, you will be required to fight. Are you willing to fight to the best of your ability for the sake of the Horde and the warband?
(A): For the Horde. For Acherus. For Vengeance!
(Q): Please tell us a bit about yourself, this can be personal history, hobbies, or anything.
(A): I was born one-hundred and twenty-nine years ago, in Silvermoon. I grew up a hero of the city. These were back in the days of the High Elves, when we were strong. I was swift with my blade, and trained to be a Paladin amongst the ranks of my people's defenders.
I died when he broke our city. I died, and became one of them.
(Q): We are considered an elite fighting force amongst the Horde. What have you trained and specialized in? What makes you unique in combat?
(A): I am a Death Knight, trained in the slaughter of cowards and fools who dare attack me. I fight with a two handed sword, runeforged by my own hands. I carve my way through my enemies with all that is unholy, a death-dealing song of Frost and Blood.
(Q): We as a warband are not fond on cowardice, disobedience, or lack of strength. How will you plan to prove to us you lack these traits during your initiation period?
(A): I died once, and the Lich King thought I was strong enough to become one of his knights. He selected me, from a pile of corpses, and brought me back to life himself. THAT is proof of my strength.
The Alliance have launched an assault on the Horde of vast proportions. Your home city is under siege, you are defending the walls against your race's foes.
Caught on patrol whilst trying to reach you, your friends in the Marauders are taken prisoner by the Alliance, and in time will be executed. Your people will never allow you to leave; you can only abandon your post in secret. Leaving your post leaves a blind spot in your city’s defenses, one the Alliance are sure to notice and use to break through the walls.
If you rescue your friends, there is no chance you will be able to re-enter your city.
There is no chance the other races of the Horde can send military forces to your home city as they are fighting on their own fronts.
Time is growing short...
(Q): Do you abandon your post and leave your city to die or do you break out under cover of darkness to rescue your friends?
(A): I am sworn to the Horde. I break out under the cover of darkness, rescue my friends if possible (big if), and then return to my post. If I can not save them, then they die an honourable death and Silvermoon stands firm against the Alliance.
